A chemical peel is a treatment which adds an acid solution, which is clinically proven to be safe, which effectively removes the damaged top layers of the skin. The medically tried and tested solutions are made up of the common components; alpha hydroxyacids (AHA) or trichloroacetic acid (TCA).
By removing damage skin which may be dry and dull, forming wrinkles or pigment, a peel reveals new rejuvenated skin. Peels
can also target other problematic areas on the body like stretch marks and scars.
Who Should Have Chemical Peels?
Anyone who is struggling with acne, fine wrinkles, poor skin texture, has ageing spots or sun damaged skin. Christal will assess your skin type during the consultation and discuss the different peel strengths offering you the best peel for your skin. Christal is a certified trained medical aesthetician and has carried out chemical peels for many years. She will guide you through what to expect in the following days and ensure the safest peel is administered for your skin type.

Who Will Perform My Treatment?
The chemical peel is administered in a doctor’s office by a certified and trained medical aesthetician or by a cosmetic doctor.
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
A series of 3 treatment 4-6 weeks apart is recommended. At look lovely London we offer packages of 3 to make the treatment affordable and the most effective.
Can Chemical Peels Be Performed On Areas Other Than The Face?
As with facial chemical peels, body peels address the effects of sun damage, even out skin pigmentation, and improve skin texture. Chemical peels can also be used on the body to minimise stretch marks and other scars.
What To Expect During and After Treatment?
In general patients may only feel a tingling sensation with light peels and a mild transient stinging feeling for a few minutes with medium strength peels. You may experience flaking of the skin over the next few days which can be cleared more quickly with home exfoliating creams.
What is the Recovery Time?
Light chemical peels are mild and require virtually no recovery time. Although the skin may feel mildly irritated after the peel, patients can return to their daily activities immediately after the treatment.
Medium chemical peels can create more flaking for the first week. By week 2 this will have cleared skin revealing more fresh youthful skin.
