What are the benefits of a AlumierMD chemical peel?

  • Alumier peels improve skin texture and firmness
  • Clearing dead skin cells reduces fine lines and wrinkles by encouraging the renewal of the skin barrier
  • The peels can improve skin tone clearing mild pigmentation
  • Improves acne-prone skin and reduce pore size appearance
  • The peels can also thicken the epidermis, increase dermal volume, and stimulate new collagen to rejuvenate the skin.

How does it work?

AlumierMD Peels remove the outer dead layers of the stratum corneum (skin). This clears dull, sallow skin and aids better absorption of the after-care products given to you as part of your peel (included in the price). Your skin care professional can customise the peel according to your skin profile and concerns.

Chemical peels are classified as superficial, medium, or deep. The strength of a chemical peel is determined by the type of ingredients used, their concentrations and the pH of the formulation. Superficial peels exfoliate to various levels of the epidermis (top layer of skin). Medium-depth peels treat through the lower dermis levels (top 3/4 layers), and deep peels will create more peeling down to the lower levels of the skin, addressing more advanced skin concerns. All the peels will reveal fresher, younger skin underneath and result in a smoother and more radiant glow that can help shrink pores, reduce scars and clear darker patches.

What to expect from my treatment?

We recommend a course of 3-6 Chemical Peels and advise coming in monthly for each peel to ensure your skin is healthy, glowing and optimised within three months of visiting us.

Our skin care specialist will thoroughly analyse your skin and recommend a personal treatment program to address your skin concerns. The treatment will be offered with home care products. The home care creams work synergistically to improve the health and beauty of the skin. We offer the Radiance Clear peel to tackle congestion and acne, the Glow peel to tackle pigmentation and the Rejuvenation peel to tackle ageing skin with poor texture.

Your AlumierMD Chemical Peel appointment will take approximately 45 Minutes. Your skin will be prepped, and the peel will be applied. All Chemical Peels will be customised to the patient’s skin tolerance and concerns. Some tingling and heat can be felt on application, and your practitioner will make this as comfortable as possible. However, this is a normal sensation for light to medium depth Chemical Peels.

Once the Peel is finished, you will be given after-care instructions that you must closely follow for several days until the healing process is complete. Your skin may be pink, and some tightness and peeling may occur for approximately seven days post-treatment. The peeling will not stop you from going about your normal daily actives and can be covered nicely with the AlumierMD tinted SPF. The peeling process is normally gentle for these peels; however, some skin types may accelerate in peeling, and some may not peel at all. Please don’t worry if there is no peel, as your skin will still be getting all the benefits from the peel. These treatments are not all about peeling but also stimulating cellular repair at deeper levels on the face.

How much do the treatments cost?

We offer a course of 3 AlumierMD Chemical Peels for £450. This includes a post-treatment skin kit to apply in between the treatments. The post treatments creams are essential with any peel to enhance and prolong your treatment results. The creams we provide you will also reduce downtime and dryness to your skin that can occur after the peel.

How safe are AlumierMD chemical skin peels?

We offer a selection of superficial to medium depth peels known for their excellent results and safety profile. The products contain only natural pure acids, antioxidants and brightening booster ingredients which are all very gentle yet highly effective on the skin.

We believe in repeated treatments for progressive and gradual results and to avoid the side effects and downtime associated with one-off deeper peels.

As these are prescription-only peels, only health care professionals like doctors, nurses and advanced aestheticians can apply them in a medical clinic setting.

Our therapists have received extensive training from the pharmaceutical company that manufactures the peels to eliminate risks of chemical burns or prolonged healing times. This means the treatments are safe but offer excellent outcomes.

No, we use medical-grade peels that have gone through extensive clinical trials and are totally safe with natural ingredients. It is important you do your research around peel brands before starting a course. Our medical staff have been using peels for the last 20 years and have had extensive training on how to safely apply a peel to avoid or eliminate any risk of chemical burns.

You will see a visible improvement within seven days after your first peel. We recommended a course of 3, with a month between each peel. So, if you have a big event like a wedding coming up, start the peel course 12 weeks before the big day.

We offer a range of peels to address skin concerns. If you are struggling with acne, we would suggest having a course of AlumierMD radiance clear peels. If pigmentation and sun damage is your concern, we would recommend going for a deeper peel like the Perfect Peel, or if you want to improve crepey fines lines and brighten your skin, the PRK peel is the best option.

Yes, peels are very effective in the neck area to help rejuvenate the skin, improve the collagen to reduce fine lines and also clear pigmentation from sun damage. In fact, the PRX peel is the best peel in the industry to tackle ageing skin on the neck.
