I’ve been self-conscious about the tip of my nose and the nasal bridge ever since my nose was broken by a fast-moving lacrosse ball at school.
So, since the age of 17 I noticed a bit of collapsing cartilage at the tip of the nose and a bump in the mid nose area where the bone healed, but sadly it resulted in a slightly hooked nose.
Now I’m 41 and have children, and although I’ve toyed with the idea of having plastic surgery to repair my nose, I don’t want to take the risk of having a general aesthetic. That plus parting with thousands of pounds when I have kids school fees to pay – and the thought of 2 black eyes plus swelling for months on end – I had to look at other options.
I just wanted my nose to look a little straighter and for the collapsed cartilage area to lift at the tip as it looked like a little bum at the end of my nose, which made me feel unattractive.
So I decided to try the non-surgical ‘liquid’ rhinoplasty which involves putting a soft gel-like solution (called a dermal filler) into the collapsed areas. It would also fill the grooved nasal bridge to soften the bump. It’s not permanent as the filler will gently break down over time but the results can last for more than 18 months.
I did my research, and went for several consultations. I chose Look Lovely London for the treatment as Dr Davina has been injecting for over 12 years and currently has had no complications with over 40,000 procedures. I also quite liked her videos on instagram – she knows what she’s talking about!
She told me she has been trained in non-surgical rhinoplasty by a head ENT surgeon in London and uses a special technique to avoid swelling, complications and bruising. I felt like I was in safe hands. I was told about the most serious adverse effect which was vessel blockage but as she uses a microfine syringe and injects in a gentle way, the risk is very minimal. As with all fillers I wanted to go to a fully trained doctor who understands facial anatomy and knows how to deal with complications if they were to occur.
I was nervous on the day but was given a full assessment of my nose to make sure I was suitable for the treatment. I had sent through some pictures before going in for my consultation, which I found reassuring – as it helped me manage my expectations. It also filled me with confidence to go ahead with treatment the same day as my consultation. My nose was numbed with special cream and Dr Davina used a microfine needle to inject the product. The procedure was almost painless, much to my relief, and took around 15 minutes. Dr Davina gave me 7 small injections in the nose and then gently moulded the filler to smooth the side profile.
And then for the reveal- wow! My nose looked straight and more petite and the grove at the tip had completely gone. As the results where instant and I was delighted. I looked like I have gone through surgery as the outcome was so good but without the risks and at a fraction of the price. I left feeling confident and so much happier as I had my old nose back from my foot-loose-and fancy-free teenage years!
Lots of people at the school gates are commenting on how well I look but without pinpointing what I’ve done. Even my husband noticed my new found confidence – and he doesn’t notice anything!
Deciding to try the non-surgical rhinoplasty is one of the best decisions I’ve made, I only wish I had done it sooner.

In the very early days of cosmetic treatments, those who wished to reverse the signs of ageing, or replenish lost elasticity within the skin, may have felt that the only way to achieve obvious results was to opt for a surgical procedure.
Now, however, the tables have turned, and there are many innovative non-surgical options that offer an alternative to long and potentially painful recoveries, unnecessary anaesthesia, hospital stays, and the high costs of surgery.
The best results are those that are subtle, yet palpable; they will work with your natural beauty, facial structure, and distinctive characteristics, and they will not leave you squinting into the mirror, searching for signs of improvement. You will see a change, and others will notice it without jumping to the conclusion that you have ‘had work done’.
More than ever before, patients are realising the benefits of working in ways that harmonise with the body, rather than putting it through the stress and strain of surgical procedures. For example, using gentle fillers that are made of hyaluronic acid, the main component found in human collagen, to give natural plumpness and hydrate the skin without downtime.
How Do Non-Invasive Cosmetic Treatments Work?
No two treatments work in the same way; we are able to utilise a wide array of technologies and treatments, which can be used to target particular areas of the face and body in different ways.
A number of treatments seek to enhance the body’s stores of collagen, which is naturally lost as we grow older. Some will reintroduce it into the secondary layers of skin, while others work to stimulate the body into replenishing its own stores naturally.
Here are just a few of the most successful skin tightening and revitalising treatments, anti-wrinkle treatments, and non-surgical facelift treatments of 2020 – and how they are able to compete with the world of invasive cosmetic surgery.
The HIFU Non-Surgical Facelift
HIFU, high intensity focused ultrasound, is a relatively new skin tightening technique that achieves astounding results as a non-surgical facelift for patients bothered by wrinkles, sagging, lost-elasticity, and definition around the face and neck.
Unlike a traditional, surgical facelift, HIFU does not require any cuts to be made into the skin; instead, it works by rapidly heating the layers of skin that sit beneath the surface of your face. In response, the cells begin to produce collagen and reverse the signs of ageing from within.
Initial results will be noticeable straight away, though further progress will occur in the months that follow and should last for up to eighteen months. While some patients opt for a second procedure with the HIFU device around three months after their first appointment, this is not necessary for everyone.
Any discomfort is minimal and does not require a local anaesthetic or numbing injection. Since no incisions are made, there will be no scarring or bandaging required.
HIFU Treatment Cost: £600 – £1200, depending on the area being treated.
HIFU Recovery Period: None.
Fillers are one of the most popular non-surgical face treatments for men and women of all ages, and they can be used to reintroduce fullness, smooth out fine lines, and improve definition in every area of the face. The fillers themselves are able to mimic human collagen; they can be targeted towards specific areas and produce incredibly natural-looking results that do not shift or migrate away from the treatment area.
This is a wonderful choice for anyone looking to reintroduce a touch of plumpness into areas of the face that may have begun to take on a hollow or ‘sagging’ appearance.
Dermal fillers do dissolve over time but, depending on the area being treated, they can last for up to eighteen months before requiring a top-up procedure. What’s more, the use of dermal fillers can prompt the body to begin replenishing its own collagen, which can mean that you will see lasting improvement, even as the fillers begin to dissolve.
Dermal fillers can also be used in a ‘liquid rhinoplasty’ and can smooth out the nose’s profile to create a straighter profile, and lift the tip without creating any incisions, or damaging the cartilage in the process.
While any discomfort will be minor, you can have a numbing cream applied to the area a short while before the injections are made.
Dermal Fillers Cost: Typically between £300 – £785, depending on the amount of filler needed, and what areas of the face are being treated.
Dermal Fillers Recovery Period: 1-2 weeks for minor bruising.
The benefits of hyaluronic acid are well-recognised, and almost half of the hyaluronic acid that occurs naturally in your body is contained within the skin tissue, just beneath the upper layer. It is responsible for hydrating the skin and maintaining a firm, youthful, healthy appearance.
Some of the most popular facial creams and serums on the market today boast hyaluronic acid as a key ingredient. Whilst these creams claim to deliver hyaluronic acid into the skin the actual amounts reaching the important lower layers are negligible.
Profhilo involves injections to target five specific areas in the cheeks and chin area, offering an excellent way to deliver the goodness into the right layers of the skin. This moisturising injection will rejuvenate tired or sunken skin, improving texture, and restoring vitality to your face. You’ll be glowing 2 weeks after the treatment.
Unlike dermal fillers, Profhilo will diffuse beneath the skin. This process will occur shortly after the procedure has been completed and will enable the benefits to be felt across a wider area. There will be a slight recovery time as the small ‘lumps’ caused by this diffusion dissipate, but this will typically disappear within 24 hours.
Profhilo Cost: £500 for two spaced four weeks apart.
Profhilo Recovery Time: 3 – 24 hours.
The PDO Thread Lift
The collagen that we begin to lose as we pass our mid-twenties is necessary for maintaining firmness and structure within the face. By the age of thirty, this change and loss of collagen will begin to be apparent with sagging and the appearance of jowls. PDO thread lift offers a remarkable alternative to surgery and it can reposition structures back to the more youthful days, and boost collagen within the face.
Rather than making incisions into the skin, incredibly thin threads can be inserted just beneath the surface layer to create a fine, supportive ‘mesh’ that supports the skin’s natural elasticity. It will also encourage the skin to produce more collagen as a result, creating further support.
The threads can be placed in a number of different positions, depending on the results you would like to achieve. They dissolve after around six months, but the results remain for between one year and eighteen months.
PDO Thread Lift Cost: Typically between £350 – £850, depending on the area being treated.
PDO Thread Lift Recovery Time: A week to ten days, for bruising.
Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections
Despite the proliferation of innovative new facial treatments, many people are left wondering whether liposuction is the only effective treatment available to shift small ‘pockets’ of fat.
Aqualyx is a gentle, non-invasive alternative to liposuction, so avoids anaesthesia and a prolonged – and potentially painful – recovery time. These injections can be performed at the clinic within 20 minutes and may be used to dissolve pockets of fat in the thighs, abdomen, arms, and the chin area.
The primary ingredient in Aqualyx, deoxycholic acid, is a naturally occurring substance capable of dissolving fat membranes and prompting those stubborn areas to break down gradually. While it may require more treatments than a single liposuction procedure, typically up to 3 sessions it will also lead to tighter, firmer results than liposuction is able to offer.
Aqualyx Cost: For the chin, £350 for the initial session. For areas of the body, £450 for the initial session. Subsequent sessions are discounted.
Aqualyx Recovery Time: One week without strenuous activity as bruising/swelling eases, and three more weeks for a complete recovery.
Injections involving the botulinum toxin are incredibly popular. They can be used to target many areas within the face and neck known to suffer the most from the visible signs of ageing. It works by blocking the signals to the muscles in the face to contract, therefore reducing the ‘tug’ on the skin. Your face will feel smoother and tighter with less fine lines appearing.
Results can last for up to six months and take one to two weeks to become apparent. You won’t wake up and have a completely smooth face, the results gradually develop over 14 days giving more natural changes. Some of the most bothersome areas, such as the delicate wrinkles around the eyes and strong lines in-between the eyebrows as well as ageing muscles in the neck (platysmal bands) can be targeted in order to effectively ‘reverse’ the signs of ageing.
The procedure itself does not require any downtime, and you can return to work immediately after, although slight bruising may occur at the site of the injection.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections Cost: Between £175- 380 depending on the area being treated.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections Recovery Time: Minimal to no recovery time needed. The results are seen at 2 weeks.
How to Find the Right Clinic
There have been many incredible innovations within the world of non-surgical face treatments and skin-tightening procedures, with revolutionary new techniques and technologies offering natural and safe results for patients.
This is fantastic news for anyone seeking an alternative to surgery, but it also means that doing your due diligence, and avoiding practitioners who have invested in the equipment – but not the extensive training necessary for producing the best results – is more important than ever before.
The right clinic for you will be one that is backed by years of experience and training, excellent results, and a great track record in performing procedures without complications.
Our practice is owned and led by Dr. Davina Wilson, who is highly respected within the fields of medicine and cosmetic treatments. With over 10,000 successful procedures to date and a strong dedication to advanced practices and training at the clinic, patients can feel confident that their visit will leave them feeling happy, healthy, and with glowing skin.
Long gone are the days when ‘getting work done’ was synonymous with surgery, or extreme transformations that compromised the face’s natural contours, structure, and beauty.
The vast majority of us do not want our cosmetic treatments to speak for themselves. We want gentle yet tangible results. We also want those results to work with our natural beauty, maintain our facial structure, and give off an air of good health, youthfulness, and vitality that age and stress may have begun to undermine.
Fortunately, revolutionary developments in the world of non-surgical cosmetic procedures are designed with this nuance in mind; they seek to revive lost collagen and structure, and to rejuvenate the face in a way that screams “long weekend in St Tropez”, rather than “overnight stay and six weeks’ recovery”.
With that in mind, achieving the best results still relies on you choosing an excellent practitioner who understands the subtleties of facial anatomy, and holds the wealth of experience necessary to realise the full benefit dermal fillers can offer.
Dr Davina Wilson and the team have considerable experience in offering patients the best outcome from their procedures. Here are a few of the ways dermal fillers can be used to achieve natural results.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are an incredibly popular injectable solution of hyaluronic acid, which is a substance that occurs naturally within the body – and particularly within the skin’s collagen stores, where it can create a firmness, elasticity, and a smoother texture.
Unfortunately, as we age, this collagen is gradually lost, which is why we all begin to experience visible changes in our faces, from fine lines and wrinkles to sagging, and a more hollow, undefined appearance. This process begins from the age of around twenty-five, but it tends to become more obvious in our thirties.
By introducing this hyaluronic acid back into targeted areas within the face through a series of non-invasive injections, we can offer patients significant, natural results that reverse the signs of ageing, and add plumper, more youthful look back into the face.
Dermal fillers can be used to improve lost depth around the delicate eye area (tear troughs), to smooth out wrinkles that appear along the nose to mouth area (nasolabial folds), or restore cheek contouring. They can also be used to create greater definition around the chin, jawline, and temples, and add more fullness back into the lips.
They can also be used as an effective alternative to the surgical rhinoplasty, and offer a non-invasive option for anyone looking to ‘smooth out’ any bumps in the bridge of their nose.
Dermal fillers typically last for up to 18 months, but returning for yearly ‘top-up’ treatments often encourages the body to begin to produce more of its own natural collagen over time.
Remember that Less is More
It is a common misconception among new patients and inexperienced practitioners alike that achieving obvious results requires a large amount of filler.
In reality, remarkable results can be achieved with very little filler, sometimes only 1-2 ml. When treating lips at the clinic, we use 1ml, which is 1/5th of a teaspoon. However, this amount can give lips a noticeably plumper more contoured look. We always avoid the trout pout or sausage over-filled look.
Capturing your natural beauty does not need to rely on large quantities of filler – or any other cosmetic treatment or surgery, for that matter. The right approach is much more nuanced and requires a great deal more finesse than using as much filler as possible in problematic areas.
Consider Your Entire Face – Not Just the Specific Area That Bothers You
We are all guilty of occasionally standing a little too close to the mirror, and scrutinising every part of our faces individually – looking for those imperfections that, under bright lighting and intense magnification, make us unhappy.
Other people, however, do not look at us in the same way. They see the entirety of our face, from its shape and structure to the natural flow of our features.
As such, focussing your attention on improving one area of your face is not the way to achieving the most natural results. Those experienced in performing these procedures have the right eye for understanding facial anatomy, and how best to work with your face as a whole, rather than as a collection of separate pieces.
An example of taking a more holistic approach to assessing the face is when we focus on the nose to mouth lines ( nasolabial folds). These folds develop as soft tissue and structures from around the mid-face area and cheeks have dropped down. If the practitioner only focuses on injecting filler in the grooves, the actual cause root of the problem (the sagging from above) has not been treated, which can lead to short-lasting or unnatural results. The experienced practitioner knows the most important areas in the face to treat to support other facial structures and create a lift.
Any procedure needs to be approached from a broader perspective – one that understands both the science and the artistry necessary for maintaining balance, and ensuring that you feel comfortable with the results.
Remember that Not All Fillers are Created Equal…
Owing to the incredible popularity of filler injections, there is a huge variety of products on the market – many of which will vary drastically in price, and the nature and quality of the ingredients used. While many will be perfectly safe and capable of producing good results, others may not have been created under strict conditions for quality control and hygiene and could cause significant problems for you if they are injected into your face.
Any good practice will utilise only the highest quality products on the market. We source our fillers from leading companies, including Luminera, Merz and Galderma. These products are extensively tested, 100% vegan, and subject to stringent quality control to ensure that every patient is kept safe and that their investment into their appearance is not wasted.
Respected clinics will always value the safety of their patients, and will invest in high-quality fillers to ensure that the results live up to your expectations.
…And neither are practitioners
Dermal fillers are a fantastic option for anyone unhappy with a lack of volume, elasticity, firmness or definition in their face. Still, they require a great deal of skill and understanding from your practitioner, and this proficiency is not something that you will find everywhere.
Achieving natural results is dependent on you putting your trust into the hands of practitioners who understand the ins and outs of the procedure itself, and who hold an impeccable track record of performing this treatment on patients who were pleased with the results. Dr. Wilson also trains other doctors in advanced aesthetics as she has 11 years of injecting experience.
Perform your due diligence by checking out honest client reviews, before and after photographs, and taking a look at the certifications that the practice holds. If they have managed to build up a loyal clientele, then this is an excellent sign that they are consistently meeting the high expectations of their customers, and that they are trusted and respected within the community.
Book a Consultation Ahead of Your Appointment
Any worthwhile clinic will ensure that you are going into the process with your eyes open and that you understand what you should expect to achieve from the procedure. There, you will be able to discuss any concerns or questions and explain to your practitioner what results you would like to see.
Similarly, they will be able to take a good look at your facial anatomy, listen to your thoughts, and explain to you what they believe they will be able to achieve during your first procedure, and never over-sell.
Rushing into any cosmetic procedure – whether it is dermal fillers or a four-hour surgery – is never advisable, and your doctor will not want to proceed with the treatment before they are confident that you are realistic about the results and ready for the procedure itself.
If your practitioner is willing to rush straight into performing the treatment, then they will have skipped many important steps. In a way, this is akin to going into the procedure blind; they may inject too much, or focus too closely on one specific area without considering your entire face. We always carry out a free consultation before a treatment. You are encouraged to take time, if you need, before booking in for the procedure knowing all your options.
As with any procedure, the value of the results lies in the preparation as much as it does the treatment itself. Natural results are achieved through a certain amount of finesse, and a level of care which is lost when the practitioner rushes through the treatment.

During the glorious gleam of 16 hour days, it’s time to crown yourself as the most beautiful bride or wedding guest this side of the summer solstice and pop into Look Lovely London for another signature treatment…
As Look Lovely London’s anointed Mystery Client, this was the first procedure I ever did at the clinic; the one that “brought me into the fold,” so to speak.
Why the cheeks you may ask?
Well, the first most dramatic signs of ageing I had in my 30s, consisted of a gradual and general hollowing of my outer and mid-face. In my 20s, I already had a thin face, so when I matured and lost even more volume around there, it was my priority to get it tended to as soon as possible.
Of course, for all you alternative face shapes out there, you might not be experiencing quite as much fat loss in the cheeks…
That said, you also might find yourself looking in the mirror one morning under, ahem, less than flattering lights, with a seriously “weary” and saggy visage staring back…
Especially when you compare yourself to those perky photos of you partying on a beach in Ibiza a few years ago.
Not to worry, the Look Lovely London cheek boost to the rescue!
After draping myself majestically over Dr. Wilson’s couch feeling, I was happily surprised that after a bit of ice pressed to the area the injections were minimally painful.
Numbing cream was offered but, after the first session, I didn’t even find I needed it.
That’s because the cheeks are perhaps the least sensitive part of the face.
Dr. Wilson analysed my facial contour and let me know where the filler would be injected, selecting the best area to naturally augment.
This was great, seeing as cheeks usually require more filler than other parts and you want to know you’re getting the best value for your new beautiful, model cheekbones!
Yes, under Dr. Wilson, I felt I was really being tailored to rather than undergoing some generic procedure that might not suit me or end up looking majorly unnatural.
Speaking of, I instantly felt a natural plumping of the cheeks, while the procedure was being performed and…
Hey presto, looking into the mirror after, I can safely say cheek filler had the most instant and impactful result on my face than all of the procedures I’d done or would do in the future.
“Filling the gaps” of mid-face has pretty much taken the last 5 to 10 years off.
Oh and, even if there was a slight residual of a prick or tiny bruise, it was easily excused as just a spot and/or efficiently covered up after with concealer.
I could return to daily duties, unabashedly, with people already commenting and wondering why I looked so good.
Always a nice thing to get complimented on in the romantic season of nuptials and summer festivals.
The final thing to know is that cheek fillers last!
Mine have lasted a year and I have friends whose pretty contours have lasted nearly two so far, so it’s well worth the investment.
Yes, dermal fillers and my cheeks have started a long-lasting relationship that, like marriages are intended to, will last through the blissful years to come.
Oh, if you want to know more about them and fillers for other areas, check out the links below:

At Look Lovely London we use Restylane dermal fillers and skin boosters which are designed to help restore, enhance and refresh your skin. Restylane is made up of a sugar molecule called hyaluronic acid which is found naturally in the skin, so it is one of the safest options for reversing the signs of ageing and rejuvenating your skin.
If you already have a favourite type of dermal filler you wish to use instead, Dr Wilson has been trained in all popular brands of dermal fillers and is able to administer most brands on request. We also offer a range of other facial injection treatments if you prefer something different.
How long do results last?
Results are noticeable straight away, however over the week the filler will settle and the final result will be seen after 10 days.
Results typically last between 6-12 months, depending on the area treated.

Are there any side effects to having dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are fast becoming one of the most popular go-to treatments among our patients. The procedure for administering fillers is very quick and has minimal side effects, making it a popular choice for both men and women. This type of affordable, non-surgical procedure, allows us to take advantage of looking younger for longer and improve on those areas that affect our self-confidence. No longer will you have to bear your imperfections or signs of ageing, but instead embrace a renewed self-confidence.
How long do fillers last for?
The lasting effects of dermal fillers depends on the area treated, however results typically last from 12-18 months. One of the main benefits of using dermal fillers is that results can be seen straight away after having treatment. It usually takes about a week for the filler to settle and the final result can be seen after 10 days.
How long does it take and how much does it cost?
The procedure for inserting dermal fillers is very quick. Treatment typically takes approximately 30-40 minutes, which is why it is famous for being a lunchbreak procedure!
Typical costs start from £280 for 1 syringe and £460 for 2 syringes, depending on requirements.
What types of dermal fillers are there?
Look Lovely London uses Restylane. However, if you have another brand favourite, Dr Wilson has been trained in all popular brands and is happy to discuss administration of your preferred brand.
Can dermal fillers be used whilst pregnant?
There is currently insufficient scientific research to suggest whether it is safe or not to use dermal fillers while pregnant. In this case, we would suggest that you wait until you are no longer pregnant and have finished breastfeeding before using dermal fillers.
What are the side effects?
The main side effects of dermal fillers are slight swelling and redness which can occur straight after the procedure. This normally disappears after ten minutes. Some bruising can also occur if the filler is being administered into the lip area, as this is more vascular than other parts of the face. However we provide icepacks straight after treatment to minimise bruising.
At Look Lovely London, we strongly advise that you spend the time to find a reputable practitioner who is properly qualified. This is important as it will help put your mind at ease, knowing you are in safe hands.
If you would like further information on dermal fillers contact us on 0203 1998245 and we will be to discuss your requirements.
Dermal fillers are commonly used to correct lines, scars or lack of definition on the skin. But dermal fillers do not just correct problematic skin; they can also dramatically improve the look of your face by adding fillers into your cheeks.
Dermal fillers for cheeks are extremely popular. Rather than opting for invasive and expensive cosmetic surgery, dermal fillers for cheeks are a fantastic way of framing and defining your face and instantly taking years off your appearance.
Dermal fillers for cheekbones creates a more defined, youthful look and can dramatically improve your facial features.
How do dermal fillers for the cheeks help?
Over time, natural aging kicks in and you start to wear your age on your face. It can be disheartening to watch your appearance change over time and you can become quite self-conscious about your facial appearance. Dermal fillers are an affordable, non-invasive way to stop the aging process simply by having a series of small injections to the skin.
Dermal fillers can fill your cheeks out, especially if they have become flat and saggy over time, and the great news is that nobody needs to know that you have undergone cosmetic treatment. The results are subtle to everyone around you, but to you they will be immediately obvious. Results last up to 12 months so you do not need to make regular trips to the clinic to keep on top of your new and improved look.
Can anyone benefit from having dermal fillers for cheeks?
Absolutely. Dermal fillers for cheeks can make a vast improvement to anyone’s face. However, if you have a skin breakout or any kind of inflammation on the skin, we would recommend that you wait for this to clear up before undergoing dermal filler treatment on your cheeks.
Which dermal fillers are intended for the cheeks?
When it comes to using the best dermal filler for cheek augmentation, our consultants at Look Lovely London know exactly what they’re doing. We use Emervel and Restylane which we believe are the very best dermal fillers for cheeks. Fairly new to the market, Emervel creates the most natural-looking results thanks to the hyaluronic acid ingredient which is also found in human collagen.
Once the treatment has been injected into the cheek, it is designed to pull in water to hydrate the skin, giving you an immediately refreshed look. Not only does dermal filler contain natural collagen designed to turn back the clock, it also contains antioxidant qualities which moisturise your skin much more effectively than even the most expensive, top brand moisturiser.
Do dermal fillers hurt?
Most patients do not experience any pain when they have dermal fillers. Some report mild discomfort while the needle is inserted into the skin but the pain is short-lived and minimal.
If you have a low pain threshold, our team will suggest that you use numbing cream on the cheek area before the treatment is administered. This can help to minimise any discomfort during treatment. The filler also contains a mild anesthetic so when the needle makes contact with the skin, you will hardly feel a thing. We will always supply ice packs after dermal filler treatment which can be used to minimise any bruising.
Are there any side effects to dermal fillers for cheeks?
You may experience a little minor swelling or redness immediately after your treatment but this typically disappears within about ten minutes. Many of our patients are able to carry on with their day as normal after having dermal fillers administered.
Although minor bruising can occur, any serious complications with dermal fillers are extremely rare but if you have any concerns about your treatment, our team will put your mind at ease.
How much do dermal fillers for cheeks cost?
If you are a first timer to dermal fillers, we offer an introductory fee of £250 for 1 syringe of filler. If you choose to come back for additional treatments then the cost per treatment starts at just £280 for 1 syringe.
If you’re new to cosmetic treatment and are feeling nervous, please get in touch. Our team will explain the procedure in full and will answer any questions you might have. Contact us on 0203 199 8236 to find out how dermal fillers can immediately improve the way you look at yourself.
We’ve all been there; spending hours in front of the mirror agonising over our facial flaws. But what is the number one complaint for men and women of a certain age? Yes, you guessed it: frown lines.
Frown lines on a forehead can instantly age a person’s face. Over time your skin loses elasticity and, as the natural collagen starts to break down, frown lines start to take over. But millions of men and women worldwide are now enjoying younger, fresher and brighter-looking skin, thanks to super-simple dermal filler treatment.
How do dermal fillers reduce frown lines?
Once the dermal fillers are gently injected into the forehead, it quickly starts to pull in water, which fully hydrates the skin, smoothing out lines and giving a fresher appearance.
Not only do dermal fillers reduce frown lines, the treatment also has antioxidant benefits meaning that the skin appears smoother and brighter. In fact, the results from dermal filler treatment are always far more effective than using an expensive, top-brand moisturiser.
Do dermal fillers on the forehead hurt?
Most patients do not experience any pain from dermal fillers on their forehead except for minor discomfort when the needle is inserted into the skin. Our expert team at Look Lovely London is skilled and experienced in administering sensitive and gentle injections, so any pain or discomfort is kept to an absolute minimum.
The dermal filler also contains a local anesthetic which numbs the skin to ensure that any sensation felt when the needle is injected is very minor. Our team also provides specially designed mini ice packs after dermal filler treatment which can be placed on your forehead to reduce and minimise any bruising or swelling.
Can anyone have dermal fillers for frown lines?
Yes. We have administered dermal fillers for men and women of all ages.
However, if you have any acne or breakouts on your skin, we do recommend that you wait for this to calm down before you undergo any dermal filler treatment. We also cannot administer dermal fillers to pregnant women or breastfeeding mums so it’s best to postpone your dermal filler treatment until your body is back to its normal self.
Are there any side effects from dermal filler treatment?
You may experience minor redness or swelling to the forehead after dermal filler treatment but this usually disappears quickly.
Most of our patients find that after a short period of time they are able to get on with the rest of their day without anyone knowing that they have just undergone dermal filler treatment. Some people even pop out to visit us on their lunch break, heading back to work feeling revived and refreshed.
It really is that simple!
When will you see results and how long do the results last?
You will see instant results after your treatment has been administered. However, increased results will be noticeable during the 10 days or so following your treatment. After 10 days have passed, you’ll be looking and feeling your very best. Results can last from between six and twelve months so you do not need to worry about having to have the treatment on a regular basis.
When it comes to reducing frown lines on aging foreheads, dermal fillers really are a superb option. Not only is the procedure non-invasive and almost completely pain free, the results can be seen for months after the treatment, delivering a huge, long-lasting boost to your confidence.
As with any cosmetic treatments, you are bound to feel slightly anxious and maybe a bit cautious. Many of our patients feel a little uneasy, especially if it is their first experience of having dermal filler treatment. Many people feel self-conscious about their lips and these insecurities tend to only grow with age. If you suffer from low self-esteem because you are unhappy with the way your lips looks, you will have probably tried lots of at-home, cheap methods to improve the appearance of your lips. Performing clever make-up tricks using lip liner and different shades of lipstick to plump up your pout can radically change the way your lips look. However, these solutions are only ever short lived.
Dermal lip fillers are the perfect way to restore your youthful look. Here at Look Lovely London, we have a team of experts who have changed the lives of many women across a variety of ages.
Undergoing any surgery, particularly to the face, requires a great deal of thought and consideration. Our patients tend to have similar concerns or questions about dermal lip fillers so we’ve put together this cheat sheet for anyone considering dermal lip filler surgery.
Why are you considering dermal fillers for lips?
If, like many of our customers, you feel that your face is not as fresh and youthful as it once was, dermal lip fillers can certainly have a positive impact on your look. As you begin to age, your lips can start to appear thinner which, over time, can affect your confidence. Dermal lip fillers are the perfect way to take years off your appearance by revitalising ageing lips.
But what’s involved?
Dermal lip filler surgery is very straightforward. Following a consultation with our experts, our team gets to work right away. After sterilising the lip area, clear gel is gently injected into the lips. You will then be offered an ice pack to apply to the lips to minimise any bruising or swelling. And that’s it!
Dermal lip fillers look natural, they make a vast difference to your overall look without radically changing your facial expressions and last for up to 12 months. The fillers biodegrade over time meaning that you don’t have to worry about having dermal lip fillers removed, so the overall procedure is not too invasive.
Dermal fillers for lips: before and after
If you’re interested in seeing images of dermal lip fillers before and after the treatment, take a look at our portfolio. Our patients are always delighted to see the instant results of dermal lip filler surgery.
These results slowly become more and more visible, with the full impact being apparent about ten days after treatment.
Are there any side effects to dermal fillers?
Some customers experience a few dermal lip filler side effects. It is fairly common to experience a little swelling or redness around the lips but this settles very quickly, usually within about ten minutes of your treatment. Very occasionally, some customers experience minor bruising but this is very rare.
If you do have some minor bruising, this can be easily covered up with makeup while you wait for the bruising to settle. Most customers do not experience bruising and are able to conduct their day-to-day activities straight after their treatment.
Do dermal fillers for lip lines work?
Yes. Many people feel self-conscious about their lip lines as they get older. Over time the skin around your lips can appear lined, especially when you smile or laugh. Our dermal lip fillers can smooth out lip lines, instantly creating a younger, fresher and healthier appearance.
Do dermal fillers for wrinkles around the lips work?
Certainly. If you have a history of smoking cigarettes, or you have wrinkles around the lips as a result of natural ageing, dermal lip fillers are a great way of smoothing out lip wrinkles.
Do cosmetic fillers for lips hurt?
Some of our customers experience minor pain during the procedure, particularly as the needle goes into the lips, but we can minimize this pain by applying a numbing cream to the area beforehand.
If you are nervous about needles then please discuss this with our team and they will do their best to put your mind at rest. As the filler contains an anesthetic, you will hardly feel it being inserted into your lips. Our team will always supply ice packs after the procedure to minimise any minor pain, swelling or bruising.
If you’re a first timer, we’ve got a page just for you which should answer all of your questions. So, are you ready to look and feel younger? Book an initial consultation with our friendly and helpful experts and discover a whole new you. Contact us today on 0203 199 8236.
The dreaded jowls: they creep up on most people at some point, and they can have a devastating effect on our self confidence. But what can you do about them?
Most people aren’t interested in (or can’t afford to have) facelift surgery to reverse the appearance of jowls. Luckily, there is a far more cost-effective option available: dermal fillers for jowls.
Why do we get jowls?
As we age, our skin naturally becomes less elastic and gets thinner. Natural proteins called collagen and elastin keep our skin firm and smooth, but as we age these proteins start to decrease.
Towards most people’s late thirties or early forties, gravity starts to take its toll and jowls can start to appear. The onset of jowls can have an ageing effect on your face and a negative impact on your confidence.
Another cause of sagging facial skin is significant weight loss. If you have lost a lot of weight, your facial skin may be left looking saggy and lacklustre.
Which is a great shame when you’ve worked so hard to get back down to a healthy weight.
Do dermal fillers work on jowls?
Yes, absolutely. Dermal fillers are a great way to replace the collagen that your skin has lost and restore plumper, more youthful skin.
The treatment is gently injected into the affected area and its natural antioxidants and hydrating qualities provide instantly smoother skin.
And the best part about dermal fillers is that they can be delivered in next to no time, meaning you can get straight back to living your life and enjoying compliments on your refreshed appearance.
The effects of dermal fillers are just noticeable enough, so you’ll enjoy all the flattery with none of the raised eyebrows and awkward questions that a facelift can attract!
Dermal fillers for jowls: before and after
When you arrive for dermal filler treatment on jowls, you’ll probably be feeling a bit flat and very fed up. Looking older than you feel can have a massive impact on your daily confidence.
Don’t just take it from us: visit our ‘Client transformations’ page, so you can see the results that our treatments have delivered for our clients, along with their feedback on our service.
How long do dermal fillers last?
Dermal fillers to reverse the appearance of jowls can last for up to 12 months. The results of dermal fillers are instant, but you’ll see the full effects after approximately 10 days as they continue to work their magic.
Are there side effects to dermal fillers?
Some people experience a little swelling and redness, but these side effects only last for around 10 minutes so you can get straight back to your daily schedule.
Bruising after dermal fillers is extremely rare, but in the unlikely event that you do experience a touch of bruising, it can be easily covered with concealer.
Overall, dermal fillers are very safe and reliable and leave no side effects, providing you choose an experience consultant to deliver your treatment.
Will I need pain relief for dermal fillers?
We can’t speak for every clinic but certainly at Look Lovely London, we work hard to administer dermal fillers as gently as possible.
Dermal fillers contain local anaesthetic so you’re unlikely to experience any pain at all. If you’re worried about feeling the needle going in, we can apply a numbing cream to the area.
Following treatment, we can also provide you with an ice pack to apply to the area if you’re worried about redness or swelling.
