Nefertiti lift: the neck treatment that’s taking the cosmetic world by storm
Turning back the clock is no mean feat. As well as crow’s feet, sagging skin and general wrinkles, a common skin problem we encounter as we grow older is the increasing visibility of Platysmal bands: the two strips of muscles running up from the base of our necks. This is where the Nefertiti lift comes in.
Named after the Egyptian queen known and admired for her good bone structure and long and elegant neck, the quick, easy and increasingly popular treatment works to re-establish the jaw line and slim down the lower face. And, thanks to Look Lovely London, it has never been easier to access a Nefertiti lift. London is home to a wide range of cosmetic clinics, but our commitment to affordable and high-quality procedures makes us stand out from the rest.
Why have a Nefertiti lift?
As we grow older, our faces change from triangular (high cheekbones with a defined jaw line) to a shape that is more square-like with the jaw becoming heavier and a double chin commonly forming. A Nefertiti lift (or neck lift) offers an effective solution for this issue. Look Lovely London also offers treatments to reduce any vertical lines on the neck, which prevents the onset of Platysmal bands and thus, the subsequent requirement for a neck lift. Results usually last around 3-6 months depending on the condition of the skin and how often the treatment is administered.
What happens during a Nefertiti lift procedure?
The Nefertiti lift procedure begins by ensuring that the neck muscles are properly relaxed. Once they are, multiple injections of Botox® are applied along the lower jaw line and down the side of the neck, which works to improve the definition of the jaw line, rebalance the underlying muscles and thus create a visible lift. Treatment generally takes just 15 minutes, allowing customers to effortlessly slot in the procedure into their busy schedules.
How long do the effects of Nefertiti lifts last?
It usually takes around 10 days for customers to appreciate the full effects of a Nefertiti lift. After this, the muscles begin to break down the treatment and after three to four months, customers may notice the neck gradually returning to its former state. It is for this reason that we recommend that customers return for a second treatment from four months onwards depending on their preferences. Research shows that results tend to last longer after each consecutive treatment.
What will happen on the day of treatment?
Before undergoing treatment, you will be invited to a thorough consultation with one of our highly experienced doctors, who will take the time to review your medical history and assess whether you are suitable for the procedure. The treatment will be thoroughly discussed and explained and you will have the chance to ask any outstanding questions about the Nefertiti lift. Once you are comfortable and ready, the treatment will begin.
The doctor will first cleanse the neck area before administering the injections no more than 3mm into the skin. A small sting upon needle entry may be felt, but this usually clears within seconds. Once the treatment is complete, customers may notice small bumps where the product has been injected, but these generally disappear within ten minutes.
Does the Nefertiti lift hurt?
As with all Botox® treatments, customers will experience some mild discomfort in the neck area for a maximum of five minutes. Most people don’t experience bruising, but those that do notice skin returning back to normal within three days after the Nefertiti lift. Before and after differences in the neck are vast, so most customers soon forget about any discomfort experienced.
How much does a Nefertiti lift cost?
It’s difficult to present the exact cost of a Nefertiti lift as the scale of treatment varies from person to person. For basic treatment, prices start from as little as £255 and for those looking to prevent the onset of Platysmal bands, we offer competitive pricing starting from £350.
