How does Profhilo and Skin Boosters work?
The pure hyaluronic acid not only intensely hydrated new skin cells, but it stimulates your own body to create more collagen, which improves skin structure and firmness.
Profhilo has one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg / 2ml) which not only saturates the skin with moisture but also remodels the ageing sagging tissue.
There are no man-made cross-links in the product, so it’s exceptionally pure with no allergic reactions. You will have brighter, smoother skin within 4-6 weeks, and results can also be seen within a few days.
What to expect from your treatment?
On arrival, the doctor will carry out a full consultation addressing your skin concerns. You will be talked through the procedure and consented on the treatment ensuring you are right for Profhilo. The product is injected into five specific areas on each side of the face. This has been proven to offer the best results and most even cover for the treatment. At the clinic, we offer numbing cream to ensure there is minimal discomfort.
While the product is being injected, you may experience a small amount of discomfort or stinging, but this clears quickly, and you leave the clinic pain free. As the treatment is injected just beneath the skin to target the correct skin cells, you will see and feel small lumps on the face after the treatment. This will be the product starting to diffuse across your skin, filling it with moisture and goodness. These little lumps generally only last between 3-24 hours.
You will see results within a week with your skin becoming more supple and smoother. You will need 2 Profhilo treatments 4-weeks apart. After your second syringe, the real magic starts to happen, and your skin should be glowing within 1-2 weeks. You will feel more rejuvenation as your skin starts to produce elastins that make collagen.
The best part about this treatment is it encourages your skin to produce collagen creating a more youthful fresh look. Results can last for 6-9 months, and most clients come back for a repeat treatment at the 6-12-month mark to keep their skin glowing. There are no upper age limits to this treatment, and it is particularly suitable for older clients who feel their skin is loose, sallow or dry. Our clients in their mid-40s also love this treatment. Profhilo FAQs
Profhilo is a very unique product on the market offering a wonderfully hydrating treatment that also stimulating the skin to produce its own collagen. Profhilo will refresh and rejuvenate the face and neck.
It can smooth out fine lines, tighten the skin and give it an air-brushed glowing look.
The main component in the treatment is Haluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar chain molecule found in the skin. The injections improve the firmness and elasticity of the skin.
Profhilo generally lasts 6 months if 2 treatments are given one month apart. After the initial treatments, we recommend coming back to see us every 6-9 months. Then only one syringe is needed, as we will be simply topping up the skin’s hydration and glow.
Profhilo is not a dermal filler. It is a very light, viscous solution of pure natural hyaluronic acid. It has been designed to disperse evenly across the upper layers of the skin to create a glowing look and to restore moisture. Dermal fillers are thicker and more viscous gels designed to be injected deeper into the skin layers to add volume, fill deeper grooves or create contouring like on cheeks or lips.
They are very different treatments but can be used in combination to boost results. They address different needs on the face but Profhilo is the number one treatment to improve texture and fine lines.
Profhilo works differently to anti wrinkle injections as it causes intense hydration of ‘thirsty’ skin and stimulates collagen in the face. This improves the firmness of the skin and can smooth out very fine lines. Anti wrinkle injections wors on the muscles deeper in the face. Anti wrinkle injections address lines but often the more prominent ones that appear when the muscle contracts.
Profhilo works on the mid to lower face, whereas anti-wrinkle injections treat the upper face over the forehead muscles.
If you are struggling with very fine lines and poor texture then Profhilo is for you. If, when you smile or elevate your brows you see deeper lines that appear then anti wrinkle injections are great.
Both treatments can be used in combination to boost results and give you a more youthful vibrant look.
Profhilo can be injected around the cheekbone and the product will diffuse around the ‘crow’s feet’ area of the eye to help smooth fine lines and tighten the skin. However, we do not recommend injecting it under the eye as it is not licensed for this area.
Profhilo is very safe but the eye trough area, which is delicate responds better to other treatment likes dermal fillers or Microneedling.
After the initial treatment, we recommend you come to see us twice a year for a top-up of your Profhilo.
This will keep your skin looking dewy, hydrated and glowing.
