What is Sculptra?
Sculptra has been relaunched back to the UK in the last few year with a new and improved formula that tackles loose, crepey skin and add volume. The treatment will improve your skin texture by activating collagen production and revitalising the skin’s structural foundation. The natural-looking results last for at least 25 months from the last treatment and gradually boosts your skin quality and thickness. Sculptra® is the only FDA approved poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) treatment that allows patients to build longer lasting volume gradually over time. Poly-L-lactic acid is found naturally occurring in your muscles after a workout. Like in the muscles, this chemical causes tissue repair and revitalisation in the skin.
Sculptra was the only skin volumizing treatment before the launch of dermal fillers in the 90’s. It has one of the safest profiles of all skin treatments and gives you natural, result, improving elasticity and skin tightness without the complications of fillers or surgical intervention.

What is the Sculptra Butt lift?

How does Sculptra work?
Sculptra contains Poly-L-Lactic acid which is found naturally occurring in our body in muscles. The Poly-L-Lactic acid once injected gently restores the skin’s structure and barrier by stimulating collagen and elastin production. When the product is injected, it creates a gentle inflammatory process which then starts a healing cascade with the production of collagen in the skin.
Collagen is so important to the skin as it helps to maintain the skin’s shape whilst keeping it smooth and hydrated. Collagen declines at 1-2 % per year in the skin as we age. As the collagen reduces in the skin the inner structure weakens, reducing its ability to maintain elasticity and moisture. This weakened inner structure can lead to sagging, wrinkles and a drop in tissues. This happens in all areas in the body but is seen most obviously in the face and the buttocks.
Having a Sculptra treatment naturally restores your skin’s own collagen production giving you a more youthful-looking pert, smooth and curvy bottom. Who is the Sculptra Butt Lift suitable for?
Patients should have a BMI of under 25
Those with a realistic expectation, but who want to avoid invasive surgery.
If you have a drop in the buttock cheek area resulting in loss of volume or a hip dip (lateral buttock/hip grooves creating a flattened or inverted front profile)
Poor skin texture with stretch marks, skin laxity or cellulite
What to expect on the day?
After a thorough consultation with your practitioner, we will assess if you are suitable for Sculptra. We will ask you to stand in your pants with the cheeks visible to assess where the product should be injected. We will ask you to tense and relax the gluteus muscle with ensure we address your specific concerns be it volume loss, buttock drop (intragluteal fold) loss of lateral contour (hip dip) or poor skin texture.
The area will be cleaned, marked up and you will be numbed in specific injection points to ensure the treatment is entirely comfortable. Each cheek will have -5 small injections sites where the sculptra will be gentle placed. The cheeks will them be massaged to incorporate the product into the area.
The actual treatment will take around 20 minutes but we allow an hour per treatment sessions to give you time for your questions to be answered and after-care advise given.
There is no -down time and you can return to your normal daily activities. We ask you to massage the area for 5 minutes twice daily for 10 days to optimise the treatment.
Generally, 2 sessions are needed 4-6 weeks apart and then stand-alone sessions can be offered at the 12-month mark to ensure the lifted, smooth results are further enhanced and long-lasting. Some patients may need 4-6 sessions depending on the degree of laxity. While patients may notice some degree of change immediate, the results continue to improve and much more noticeable definition will start to show after 4-8 weeks. The full effect of the treatment can take up to three – six months to show significantly.
After the treatment you may have small spot bruises and possible tenderness but this will clear over the next few days. You will not have any discomfort sitting down. You may feel some swelling and instant volumisation but this will settle. You can resume your normal exercise regime within a couple of days
