Polynucleotides

What are Polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are tiny purified molecules injected into the skin which encourage it to maintain its youthful appearance. They are commonly referred to as biostimulators or biorevitalisers. This injectable is a cosmetic treatment quickly gaining popularity due to its ability to promote skin regeneration and encourage revitalisation naturally.

What do Polynucleotides do for your skin?

Polynucleotides help your skin to heal, repair and glow! By stimulating your cells to produce their own collagen and elastin, they will improve skin quality, firmness and elasticity. Polynucleotides are great for reducing fine lines, wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes. We also recommend the treatment if you are looking for help with any acne scarring or rosacea.

Where can I have Polynucleotides?

This injectable product can be used for the face, along with the neck and decolletage areas. We also offer a specialised Polynucleotide injectable designed specifically for the delicate eye area.

Are polynucleotides natural?

Yes!  Polynucleotides are of natural origin and derived from European freshwater fish intended for human consumption, which most closely resembles human DNA.

How often should I have a Polynucleotide treatment?

For best results, we recommend that patients opt for a course of 3-4 treatments. You practitioner will always tailor your treatment plan specifically to your skin and desired outcome.

What can you expect after a polynucleotide treatment?

You can expect improved skin texture, tone and hydration. Polynucleotide’s are particularly great for acne scarring, and reducing any redness created by Rosacea.

How long do the results last?

Typically, the effects of these treatments last 6 to 12 months. Regular treatments can provide more noticeable and long-lasting results.

What other treatments would you recommend alongside Polynucleotide injectables?

Polynucleotides not only rejuvenate your skin on their own, but they also enhance other treatments as they create a brilliant foundation. Polynucleotides are best teamed with other treatments for ultimate results.

What is the cost?

A course of 3 treatments is required, and costs £895 for the package. Each treatment is one month apart. Your practitioner will advise on your recommended treatment plan during your consultation.

Non Surgical Facelift (HIFU)

HIFU: the ultimate non-surgical face lift!

The quest for a way to look more youthful is never ending, one of the concerns I hear about the most is definitely regarding the lower face.  Sagging of the skin, the drooping of jowls, loss of definition in the jawline and cheekbones – to name but a few.  It can be very overwhelming (and sudden!) and feel like a surgical facelift is the only solution.

Fortunately, being part of such a tech savvy generation there are now many ways to reverse ageing, in a much more accessible, non-invasive and safer way than your standard surgical procedure.

What is HIFU & how does it work?

High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound or HIFU, is a revolutionary non-invasive treatment that is quickly becoming one o the most popular options for those looking to improve their appearance and achieve a more youthful look. HIFU uses high-frequency sound waves to heat and cause trauma in a specific area of the face or body, making it a safe and effective option for addressing a variety of skin concerns.

One of the key benefits of HIFU is that it is a non-invasive procedure, meaning that there are no incisions or anaesthesia required. This makes it an ideal option for those who want to improve their appearance without the risks and downtime associated with surgical procedures. Additionally, HIFU is a quick and easy treatment that can be completed in a single session, with minimal recovery time required.

Another benefit of HIFU is that the results can be long-lasting, with many people seeing visible improvement for several months or even years. It is an excellent alternative for those who are not ready for more invasive procedures such as a surgical facelift and want to maintain the result for a longer time.

Overall, HIFU is a safe and effective treatment that can help you achieve a more youthful and refreshed appearance without the risks and downtime associated with surgical procedures.

What to expect on the day of your HIFU treatment?

  1. Consultation: Before the treatment, you will have a consultation with one of our skilled practitioners to discuss your concerns and goals, and to ensure that HIFU is the right treatment option for you. They will also give you an idea of what to expect during and after the procedure.
  2. Preparing the skin: Your skin will be cleaned and prepared before the procedure. This will include the application of an ultrasound gel to the target areas to facilitate the transmission of ultrasonic energy.  Your practitioner will draw a map and numbers on your face of where and how deep the treatment will go depending on your own personal anatomy.
  3. The treatment: The HIFU machine is placed on the skin, a button Is pressed, making a slight zapping sound, you may feel a little heat during this where the machine is delivering focused ultrasonic energy to the specific area of the skin, where the tightening and rejuvenation is happening.
  4. This process is repeated as necessary based on your desired results and skin condition. Once the treatment is complete your skin with be cleansed of any excess gel, aftercare will then be applied to protect and moisturise the skin.
  5. The final step: Follow up with your practitioner for evaluation of the results, including any necessary maintenance treatments. This is usually 3 months post treatment.

How will HIFU help you and who is a suitable candidate?

HIFU is suitable for anyone looking for a non-invasive way to improve the appearance of ageing skin, including fine lines and wrinkles, without undergoing surgery. It is often recommended for people with mild to moderate skin laxity who want to achieve a more youthful and refreshed appearance. You can expect HIFU to help with anything from improving skin texture, firmness, facial contouring, enhancing skin elasticity, and help to reduce any fine lines. It is important to note that results will vary from person to person and may depend on factors such as skin type, the extent of skin damage and the number of treatments received.

What is the downtime and after care of HIFU?

The downtime of HIFU can vary slightly depending on the person, unlike a surgical facelift taking months to heal and a long list of aftercare to follow, HIFU can range from a few hours to a few days. Some common side effects include redness, slight swelling and mild discomfort in the treated area, but these usually resolve quickly. Patients are able to resume normal activities soon after the procedure but are advised to avoid strenuous activities and excessive heat exposure for a few days. It is important to follow the aftercare provided by the medical provider to minimize downtime and optimise results.

Hifu or Ultherapy?

Ultherapy and HIFU are essentially the same treatment, as they are both forms of focused ultrasound. Ultherapy however is the older technology, and we use the Ultraformer 3 which is the more modern device. Although Ultherapy does have ultrasound incorporated, this is essentially the only difference, and when seeing a skilled practitioner is not necessary. Our practitioners have  actually worked with both devices, and we chose Hifu as the sessions were less painful/uncomfortable and the treatment appointments took much less time.

Welcome To The Team Christal! Discover Our Huge New Range Of Treatments Arriving Exclusively This Autumn

Skin care treatments from CrystalLook Lovely London is excited to announce that we will soon be welcoming Christal Walstead, LE, CLT to the clinic.  Christal is trained in advanced aesthetics, with a particular interest in rosacea, hyperpigmentation, anti-ageing and acne.

Currently based in Chicago, Christal will be joining us at the clinic in October, and we can’t wait to welcome her! With  extensive training in microdermabrasion and medical grade chemical peels, having Christal as part of the Look Lovely  team means we will be widening our range of treatments to include the following:

Chemical Peel

A chemical peel is a popular treatment used to improve the skins overall appearance. A chemical solution is applied to the skin which encourages exfoliation and the top layer of skin to peel. Once the skin has peeled, a new, rejuvenated layer is visible which typically appears smoother and less wrinkled than the old layer.

Chemical peels can also be used to improve the appearance of acne, hyper-pigmentation and ageing. Dermaplaning can be used in addition to the chemical peel to further the results and stimulate new skin development.  Microdermabrasion treatments can also be used in conjunction with peels to reveal younger, healthier looking skin.

Micro-needling

Micro-needling reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, minimises pores and improves the appearance of scars, as well as the overall quality of skin. Micro-needling works by creating controlled punctures in the skin using very fine needles. The body then responds by creating new skin cells, so you are left with skin that looks younger and healthier.

There is very little downtime involved with this treatment, so you can achieve great results in no time!

Hydrafacial

Tailored to suit your skin, this rejuvenating treatment immediately reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The HydraFacial also targets acne, hyper-pigmentation, blocked pores and uneven skin tone, so your skin will appear smoother and more even. The treatment includes hydradermabrasion, light chemical peel, and LED light therapy.

If you are short of time, why not try our Express HydraFacial? Complete with LED light therapy this treatment cleanses, exfoliates and hydrates your skin in half the time. Perfect for a lunch break skin treat!

PRP (Vampire Facial)

Platelet-Rich Plasma treatment, also known as the Vampire Facial, can be added on to the end of your rejuvenation treatment to enhance the effects. By using additional plasma topically, the effective concentration of natural healing substances and growth factors is increased, boosting results!  Make sure you allow for an extra 15 minutes on top of your treatment time for this procedure.

If you would like further information on any of the new treatments that are coming soon, give us a call on 0203 199 8245 and we will be happy answer your questions and provide any advice you need.

The Easy Way To Banish Frown Lines

We’ve all been there; spending hours in front of the mirror agonising over our facial flaws. But what is the number one complaint for men and women of a certain age? Yes, you guessed it: frown lines.

Frown lines on a forehead can instantly age a person’s face. Over time your skin loses elasticity and, as the natural collagen starts to break down, frown lines start to take over. But millions of men and women worldwide are now enjoying younger, fresher and brighter-looking skin, thanks to super-simple dermal filler treatment.

How do dermal fillers reduce frown lines?

Once the dermal fillers are gently injected into the forehead, it quickly starts to pull in water, which fully hydrates the skin, smoothing out lines and giving a fresher appearance.

Not only do dermal fillers reduce frown lines, the treatment also has antioxidant benefits meaning that the skin appears smoother and brighter. In fact, the results from dermal filler treatment are always far more effective than using an expensive, top-brand moisturiser.

Do dermal fillers on the forehead hurt?

Most patients do not experience any pain from dermal fillers on their forehead except for minor discomfort when the needle is inserted into the skin. Our expert team at Look Lovely London is skilled and experienced in administering sensitive and gentle injections, so any pain or discomfort is kept to an absolute minimum.

The dermal filler also contains a local anesthetic which numbs the skin to ensure that any sensation felt when the needle is injected is very minor. Our team also provides specially designed mini ice packs after dermal filler treatment which can be placed on your forehead to reduce and minimise any bruising or swelling.

Can anyone have dermal fillers for frown lines?

Yes. We have administered dermal fillers for men and women of all ages.

However, if you have any acne or breakouts on your skin, we do recommend that you wait for this to calm down before you undergo any dermal filler treatment. We also cannot administer dermal fillers to pregnant women or breastfeeding mums so it’s best to postpone your dermal filler treatment until your body is back to its normal self.

Are there any side effects from dermal filler treatment?

You may experience minor redness or swelling to the forehead after dermal filler treatment but this usually disappears quickly.

Most of our patients find that after a short period of time they are able to get on with the rest of their day without anyone knowing that they have just undergone dermal filler treatment. Some people even pop out to visit us on their lunch break, heading back to work feeling revived and refreshed.

It really is that simple!

When will you see results and how long do the results last?

You will see instant results after your treatment has been administered. However, increased results will be noticeable during the 10 days or so following your treatment. After 10 days have passed, you’ll be looking and feeling your very best. Results can last from between six and twelve months so you do not need to worry about having to have the treatment on a regular basis.

When it comes to reducing frown lines on aging foreheads, dermal fillers really are a superb option. Not only is the procedure non-invasive and almost completely pain free, the results can be seen for months after the treatment, delivering a huge, long-lasting boost to your confidence.

As with any cosmetic treatments, you are bound to feel slightly anxious and maybe a bit cautious. Many of our patients feel a little uneasy, especially if it is their first experience of having dermal filler treatment. Our team members are skilled, friendly and understanding and can put your mind at rest by answering any questions you may have, so you can book your appointment with confidence.

Dermal filler treatment for eliminating frown lines is very common and extremely popular. Book your appointment and find out why! Contact us today on 0203 199 8236.
